On May 18, 2000, Mutabaruka
gave a lecture to the Caribbean Students Association of Stanford
University. Muta discussed the difference between
education and indoctrination, citing the need to go beyond the campus curriculum lest the
system turn the vibrant youths of today into tomorrow's oppressor. During this 90 minute presentation, Muta asserts that
sexism and the degradation of women starts with the Judeo-Christian concept that woman was
created from the rib of a man. Such religious followers contend that, because god
gave man dominion over all things, they are justified in destroying all other forms of
life. |
