Big Youth reasons with Ireggae about being raised by his mother and how
he got his real education after leaving school. Jah Youth discusses the life
experiences that ultimately led him to chanting for the Emperor Lord Tippertone
Sound System. He talks about the accident he got into while coming home
from the pressing plant with the initial copies of "Movie Man",
his debut recording. After coming out of a coma, Big Youth
had a vision and heard a voice tell him "you haffi just go sing and tell the
world about jah". Big Youth speaks about the recordings
contained on Blood & Fire compilation "Universal Natty Dread"
. His upcoming album "Misinterpretation", will
include covers of Sade and Diana Ross. One of the many songs on the album, "Where
Rap Comes From", was just released as a 7" single on Junior
Delgado's Incredible label.
"We are living in a troubled time right now, and with all the
rumours of war and all the wickedness wha a gwaan, it's time for the people to just think
for each other, and mek we still try to be unified and see what we can do to save our
